Die Ou Pastorie reviews
27A more beautiful and romantic setting for a Valentine's Sunday lunch is hard to imagine. The food was both delicious and the presentation beautiful with very helpful and attentive staff. Great place to visit in the Skeerpoort countryside in the valley of the Magalies mountain range. Absolutely delightful, tranquil, tree filled venue with a strong sense of history and beautiful artworks to boot and a very charming hostess.
Buffet lunch
Great spread
From starters to desert
Nice capachino served piping hot
It's definitely not the old Ou Pastorie we used to visit. Booked for a valentine's buffet lunch. Place was dirty and run down. No ambience, no background music, and the food was terrible. For R400 a head for a valentine's lunch it was poor. We did not even eat all our food. Paid and left. We won't be back
So beautiful. You immediately feel welcome and they are so accommodating a gorgeous little oasis in Hartbeesport
Just popped by for the Dan Patlansky show - the meal and venue was great.
I can't say anything about the guest house side, but based on what I saw I recon there would be nothing to worry about.
Quaint little guest house. Lovely dining area with great art and decor. Built in the late 1800's. Susan and Bronwyn were wonderful. Comfortable rooms and had a lovely breakfast there. Unfortunately their restaurant is no more due to COVID.
Cheerful welcoming with great food in a delightful setting with the added pleasure of listening to live music by incredibly talented musicians
We loved the ride out to this fantastic spot, and the food, service and setting completely took our breath away!
Great value for money and excellent food. Biker friendly and definitely a spot to visit again and again.
Loved the gardens and the stoep setting.
Very friendly staff and great service. The accommodation was neat and clean and very nice. Great value for money.
Die Ou Pastorie is a gem to behold. Well worth the trip to treat yourself and your family to a wonderful relaxed venue.
The atmosphere is the first sense that is overwhelming. Seated under the trees in the cool shade is amazing. The old house also gives one a sense of history and perhaps a sixth sense of the presence of the occupants that lived there over the 140 years.
Our breakfast was 5 stars. Service was what you would expect and the memory will stay with us until we visit again.
Always love coming here. Great place for breakfast, lunch and relaxing. The live musician was great too!
The food here is NOT five star BUT 10 star.
The butter chicken is the best I have ever tasted.
Will definitely be back to eat the curry lamb.
May the restaurant never close down.
Worth the trip from Pretoria
Lively place, great music and live performances, really good food and snacks, enjoyable evenings and weekend gateway
Delicious food! Portion size and cost are equal for a change. Great service and staff. Just for an added bonus the atmosphere and environment are so relaxing. A must visit everytime.
Die tuine is asemrowend mooi, die wooneenheid is pragtig en silwer skoon. Die kos is heerlik en die personeel is netjies en vriendelik. Sal baie graag weer daar wil oorbly. Baie dankie die ou Pastorie

I recently played a music show at this beautiful venue tucked away in Hartebeesport. The venue is lush with greenery and the restaurant is run by a wonderful staff. The food was immaculate, I had the beef and wine pie which was honestly one of the best pot pies I've ever had. Highly recommend for a day out of the city.
We had a wonderful Sunday lunch, accompanied by amazing live music. The food was very good, the staff and management were excellent and the surroundings and ambience were great.
Lovely little find. Old Country House with a great garden setting for outdoor lunches. We had a late lunch and there was live music which was great. I ate the butter chicken curry, my friends had a beef pie and the chicken strips and chips - all of them were very tasty! Service was good and the waiter made some recommendations.
Situated within near Johannesburg 45 min countryside it is one of the most beautiful, peaceful and relaxing place to unwind from a busy week. Very stylish yet welcoming, decorative but not overwhelming cluttered and a menu and cappuccino to die for. Life music, jazz breakfasts and much more to discover. A must go for individuals, couples and families picture taken on my way to Die Ou Pastorie
