Hartbeespoort Cable Way - Hartebeespoort

Solo hike up Iron throne, loads of cover on a scorching say. It's not suitable for children or inexperienced hikers. Becoming one of my favourites. I choose to hike down instead of taking the cableway. The ascent was clearly marked, the 1st 1km of the descent however was misleading, damaged and fallen over signs. Easy to get lost if it's your 1st hike. Very disappointing to see the number of strewn plastic bottles from hikers and cross trainers. Perhaps randomly placed bins for those that dont care for the environment. The restaurant is closed at the start and ablution facilities not the greatest. The guys at the car park, thank you for an awesome job that you do

Wonderful views.
Very clean and neat, restrooms are also very clean and well maintained.
Great service and chilled vibe when you get to the top with a lovely grassy area with some beanbags to lounge around. Walking trails as well, no trash in sight, very clean.
Plenty of tables and seating areas.
Get there early to avoid queues but more importantly to enjoy more time at top.

Friendliest staff all round!

Very friendly staff, they assisted me well with my mother (Pensioner). Clean toilets, ice cream shop, restaurant inside and safe parking.

The place itself it's a wonder but the service not so satisfying. Also there is limited food and beverage choices available.

I am scared of heights but I could ride again.

Harties cable way is a nice place to enjoy with your family and friends. Their food was very good, I enjoyed steak and chips. View is wow and you can see the Hartbeespoort dam. I give waitress 8/10, they give us a good service. I can go again and again.

Great experience. Two restaurants at the top, so you can enjoy a tasty meal with a beautiful view.

Staff was friendly but a bit reckless expecting my husband and I to get into moving cable car at the top station as well being back at the main station. One caretaker at arrival did stop the cable car when we requested him to. Big high five to that gentleman

Best place to be if you love touring, tasty food and vacation. Defines taking my family on holidays

Trip was fine but quality of service and friendliness of staff at the top of the mountain can be improved upon.

When I went there with a friend, the experience was magical! Breathtaking views of Harties and the dam. Absolutely worth the ride up. Plenty of space up there as well for picnics and hangouts. Really a gem and a place to be if you’re that side of the world. Incredible!

Fantastic experience for a day out of the big city. My only gripe would be that there are no waiters / waitresses up there. Buy tickets online and skip one queue. Buy two beers at a time as well if you are a bit of an impatient person like me.

Great place However as we come out of winter, there are more visitors. To avoid the crowd, I'd suggest visiting early mornings or during thr weekdays

A beautiful place to spend some time. Views are superb. While coming down if there's any cable car issue, you might get a free chopper ride down.)

I was so disappointed. No cash facilities. And no one was willing to take cash for anything. So our whole day was spoilt. We only took cash

What a pleasant experience. Everything just worked. Upon arrival we we directed to the ticket office. Bought our tickets and were on our way to the top in less than 15 minutes. Everything is sanitised and clean. The walk at the top of the mountain was pleasant with plaques every nou and again with some detail about the view (a bit of a history reminder/lesson).

At no point on the website does it say you cannot bring your own picnic up to the top. At R240 per person it's hellishly exorbitant to not be able to provide one's own refreshments. Very misleading
