We had a fun day the steak I ordered was tasteless and tough the rest off the food not to bad

Very good place to go to relax and take your time eating. Freindly service and plenty to do for the kids. Tractor rides nice touch. @R20 each.

The Van Gaalen trail is awesome. It's clean, safe and the hike is very well marked. A choice of 4 trails of varying distance- 10km, 12km, 17km and another one that I can't remember.
As for the restaurant, the view is worth it. It was very busy when we went on Sunday at lunch time & although there were a lot of well meaning waiters and managers speeding around, it takes a while to get your order. So just sit back with a crisp craft beer (Kroondal - was delicious) & enjoy the view.

I love the Dutch feel of the place. Good cheese. Nice restaurant. Lovely Dutch souvenirs and produce.

Very nice please to visit. So many different cheeses to choose from and there is a tour on how the cheese is made

Excellent MTB trails and restaurant serves traditional Dutch cheeses there is even a tour and cheese class that you can take

Beautiful scenery and nice atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a relaxing day out

Nice place where you can buy and taste some cheeses from Netherlands. Cheeses are done in the farm, and you can see them do it. Quite and peacefully space to eat or just take a coffee. You can get in touch with the farm animals, and seems that exist bike trails to be done.

Lovely gifts, Dutch and German heritage. Stay away from the cheesecake. Leave it to the Americans. Please Germany we beg you.

Decided to visit Van Gaalens again as part of a Monday morning adventure. Had a cheese platter and 2 craft beers. Beautiful place, great cheese. Highly reccomend visiting Van Gaalens.

Attended the yearly Salomon Magalies Challenge trail run. Didn't eat at venue but the place is really beautiful with cool and friendly staff.

Lovely place. We had a cheese and wine outing in peaceful surroundings. Farm with picnic spots and restaurant

Relaxing atmosphere and beautiful views. Delicious food and friendly staff. There are Mountain bike and hiking trails to choose from as well.

It's a lovely tranquil place for a Sunday getaway. The restaurant serves good food but service is on point. The beauty of the place is breath-taking. This place doesn't allow your own picnic basket to be brought in, so you're compelled to eat at the restaurant. Dutch cheese is made on the premises and almost everything on the menu contains cheese. They even have times where you can watch the cheese being made.

No cheesecake. Whaaat!? Had some cinnamon ring cake thing instead that was gritty and dry. Bitterly disappointed. Pretty view though and perfect play area for kids. Felt the place was very impersonal. Maybe I just came on the "wrong day. "

Tranquil country atmosphere lots to do on all their trails didn't know they have an extensive area to hike or cycle

We loved the outside atmosphere. BUT the tasting of cheeses was very uncomfortable because the lady was very unfriendly. Although we did bought cheeses.
We then ordered a cheeseplatter from restaurant.the cheeses was dried out and the 3 variety of bread was old and dry. Normally fresh bread is expected with a cheeseplatter.

Well marked mountainbike trails of different categories. Suitable for children and adults. Restaurant facilities and bike shop also available.

This place was really cool, we a 12k hike which was nice and shady with a view of the river that flows through, there are multiple routes to follow so your hike can be as long or as short as you would like. There is a little restaurant and a mountain bike trail as well which we will definitely go back to try:)
