The best kept secret in Kakamas, excellent wines and locally produced brandies that are on par with the best available in South Africa. The restaurant which is part of the distillery provides excellent food with wines from their cellar or beers for the thirsty traveller.
Second time here and severely disappointed. The staff doesn’t seem to know what being a vegetarian entails. We gave them guidelines indicating that if they just made any of the other pizzas without the meat it would be great. However, they came up with a extremely unappetizing pizza topped with green beans, baby corn and carrot. Laughing it off as “being the Noord Kaap” wasn’t even possible when we saw the exorbitant price they charged for it. The other pizzas were also of lower standard than the first time we visited. They also didn’t have any red wine available in winter. Dog friendly.
