Cactus Creek Restaurant / Texican Constantia reviews
35 Absolutely Amazing! The portions are generous, the food is absolutely delicious and the service is absolutely great. I think the service was probably the most memorable part of my experience, Martha was attentive and came across really caring about us wanting to have a good time.
The hard shell tacos were wonderful, and it was a break away from the ubiquitous soft shell tacos in PTA. I had the fish taco, and it was heavenly. From the spicing to the coleslaw to the homemade peri-peri sauces (which I happened to overindulge in).
We're definitely coming back for the churros. We must try the churros.
Had a good meal at a reasonable price. Service was also good. Will certainly go again. Try Taco Tuesdays.
Thoroughly enjoyed every single part of my visit there. The venue comes highly recommended.
It was nice, quiet and welcoming. The food is incredible. The onions rings are fantastic, the rump steak was incredibly tender, the burgers were well presented and tasty and the beers were cold! Do support this restaurant!
We really enjoyed eating here. The food is to dir for, as well as the Margaritas. Great staff and atmosphere. Would really recommend!
We really enjoyed this place. Being from the desert southwest of the US, we are a bit pretentious about anything Mexican food related. Especially anything with the dreaded "Tex-Mex" affiliation. However, this was some damn good food. We all enjoyed it and want to return. Definitely recommend.
Very friendly service with generous portions of very tasty mexican foodstuff.
Recommended.
The food is really good. Cocktails are great. Very nice vibe. Our waiter was very friendly and on it. Perfect place to hang with friends and get a good drink and snack
I was craving Tacos, been to most Taco places in Durban, so the son decided to take me here. Wow, i was in Taco heaven, as a food critic not really left speechless, but i was enjoying the melody of flavours, hot steamy shredded pork, plentiful portions, then the cooling crisp coleslaw or cabbage, the adding of guacamole & sour cream, delectable.i would advise to add some salsa for heat, as an option. I had the hard & soft shell variation, best of both.served by a very enthusiastic, enlightened Tyler. He knew his menu & specials that Texican offers for the week, touted with flare! Also quite the mixologist he is, mixed my Cherry blossom gin. The son had the steak enchillada, tried the pork previously, vouches for the pork.fresh, generous portions.excellent, attentive, friendly service. Love the vibe, just too bad they dont offer prawn tacos but Tyler explained dont want food preparation contamination, so just chicken, beef & pork meat offerings. Blown away by my Tacos, definitely worth the taste try️️
Our waiter, Tyler, was excellent, and the environment lovely. We sat in the corner with our baby celebrating our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately I have a severe peanut allergy and everything (except the tacos) is cooking in an oil blend which contains peanuts.
I wanted to enjoy the experience, and I wanted to rate the restaurant five stars, but for now I can't. Please understand, I am not giving this negative review because everything contains peanuts, this review is because there is no warning nor indication of the presence of peanuts (a common and dangerous allergy) on the menu.
Unfortunately we had to finish our drinks and leave. The food may be to die for, but it is for that reason that I have not yet tasted it.
Absolutely delicious food Fantastic service from Tyler the only reason you didn't get 5 stars is because your allergy warnings are absolutely appalling. ALL food is cooked with peanut oil except for tacos. If we hadn't asked our anniversary would have been spent very differently.
PUT ALLERGY WARNINGS ON THE MENU! PEANUT ALLERGIES ARE VERY COMMON AND EVERYTHING IS MADE WITH PEANUT OIL.
I however am not allergic and for a vegetarian it is a wonderful place to eat. No shortage of delicious food to be had!
Great little Mexican restaurant. Friendly staff and a good menu will make you keep coming back for more. Keep up the good work Texican
Good service, the food was outstanding, nice atmosphere and cozy, prices are afortable, a family restaurant and i give then a 5 star rating.
What an amazing little restaurant! The food is so good and they are really well priced! My favorites are the ribs and eisbein. The pan fried potatoes are to die for! Leave the chains alone and support local gems like this. You will not be disappointed!
I’m a bit startled by all of these excellent reviews. If someone remembers reality show called fear factor, they settled down here in Pretoria. I can highly recommend the snails, that’s the next level for adventure hunters…. But the waitress was lovely.
So glad to have found it again we were always fans when it was in Hazelwood and then Kimiad but then I thought it had disappeared. Was so surprised to see it out of the blue when driving past the aria. Popped in for a quick drink, had all ready eaten so did not try the food but looked through the menu and am so keen to go try it out. Very reasonably priced and I know from past experience that it will be good.
Great experience as always. Great food, great vibe and the owner Chris always comes around for a chat. One of my favorite restaurants.
The food was amazing, very unique flavours, the staff is very friendly. It's a great spot for a Sunday lunch!
Let me begin by saying that if you only go for the food and care about nothing else then its fine. Homely, pub lunch but fine. The issue is the filth and service. Everything is dirty, maybe going at night and having a few drinks will let you forget which is probably the idea but don't go during the day if it will bother you. The service also left much to be desired. Getting the attention of the staff without getting up is impossible because of the way they face away to do their chores between serving. The food took nearly an hour and the place was pretty empty. Even a cup of coffee had a wait time. That may depend on the day but staff has to be more attentive and the place needs a serious clean. Would go again if that was the case.
