Horrific Experience
I am an Indian lady of 49 years old.let us begin there. Today the police went to arrest the owner Ken of this place for assault and damage to my property as well as theft of my Iphone, Bank cards, Cash and ID.
I found this place a couple months ago whilst shopping. Its probably my 5th time on Saturday. I don't live very far away. And I would go after shopping to eat lunch and drinks or dinner. This saturday I went there again after shopping for some dinner and drinks. I met a friend another lady same age as me.we stayed till late about 9pm as they had karaoke.and I do love karaoke. Everything was fine until I went to the ladies toilet. I was attacked by the owner in the Ladies toilet while waiting my turn as the were other ladies in the toilet too. I actually never met him before. He accused me of causing problems with someone and I know I did not cause problems with anyone. He attacked me by throttling my neck and pushing me out the bar. He shoved throttled and pushed me out to the parking area where I tripped on the tar. He then kicked me, dragged me further to my car. Someone brought my bag to him that contained all my belongings and car keys. I don't know who as he was still assaulting me. He opened my car shoved me inside and proceeded to violently squeeze my neck till I felt I was going to black out. I was placed down with the back of my head by the accelerator half my body on the seat and he had his knee in my tummy. That is when I started fighting for my life. He only stopped after I was kicking him off me. He broke the gears in my car. He broke the Steering wheel as well. I just do not know how I ever thought this was a safe place to go too being so close to my home. I have injuries on me that I have never experienced before in my life. Nobody really helped until they saw that I was fighting him off me from inside my car. I heard someone tell him to leave me alone and let me go. I went straight to police. And I will not let him get away with this as no female is safe if he gets away with this. And no I vehemently do not recommend this place. This place will be in my nightmares forever.

We had the best time here on a Friday evening. The vibe is terrific with live music and a decent collection of wines and beer. We didn’t try the food though. Definitely recommend for a fun night out in Jo burg

Long time local for this area.
Been upgraded in the last few years for the better.

I've been back and there has been some great music. Jack Atlantic and Kerry Sansouci.

Food was good service was slow but still affective. Small place but nice for a bite or a beer! I will go back at some stage!

Hubby was in the mood for steak, egg and chips. I just wanted to have chips. On Wednesdays they have a Castle Draught beer for R32. Hein's Portuguese steak, egg and chips was delicious! Thickish piece of steak, cooked medium to order. I ordered a small plate of chips (but it was huuuge) and their veg - left most of the veg for dinner.

Always busy, always friendly staff! Glorious food! Their crumbed chicken strips and chips - to die for! Trinchado fabulous. Breakfast yum and cheese burger delicious.

Nice spot to watch sport on TV and enjoy a cold beer with good food.

Food stale.time and time again.owner and her boyfriend have attitude.sitting there / acting up as if they are the owners of Sun City. Drop the attitude.make sure you never use old salad / buns for your burger.and when you order buns.dont go for the cheapest that falls flat when try to eat it. Spend a couple of bucks and get a proffesional to vet your menu.lastly
get some proper shading for your deck.

Nice pub but terrible service. Hamburgs from here are not at all good. The menu is outdated

I like the place but it needs a younger crowed. I'm no youngster, but they bring a more Lively vib and good looking women. Just my opinion.

Good vibes anx atmosphere. Owners are very friendly and care for their clientele safety. Food and service is good. Nice outdoor setting.

Great restaurant with amazing food specials 9n quality tasty food.

On Friday the 6th of May 2022 when leaving, my wife dropped her cellphone, which she placed on her handbag!

The loss was only discovered after we arrived home.

We eported the loss to the restaurant manager.

We really didn't expect to see the telephone again.

What a pleasant surprise it was to receive a telephone call in Saturday afternoon from the owner to inform us that the telephone had been found!

You have certainly earned our respect and confirmed why we frequent Gathering o' the Clans!

Real pub atmosphere in the middle of Douglasdale. The drinks prices are very reasonable and there are some insanely cheap specials. Great plavce to visit before a night out or just to hang out with friends. Friendly staff. Oten have live music to add to the atmosphere.

Nice place with cool staff, very relaxed atmosphere and one of my favorite places to come after work. Great drink specials!

What an awesome experience. Our waiter was friendly. We had a chuckle at him trying to convince my sober sister to have a drink. He was upselling all the time. That is the sort of waiter you need. The food was devine and it was worth the trip.

Service was efficient atmosphere was great but it lost one star to me as the loaded chips with mince had virtually no mince on and the mince was dry and clumpy i just hope this wasnt the norm otherwise the menu and kitchen needs some improvement

We Were going out to have Chinese food but as we passed Gathering of the clans we changed our minds.the reason.it looked lively. The waiters were attentive and the misters really helped to break the heat. The atmosphere was alive. The food was top notch.

Some of the best food I have ever had, tasty and homemade. Lovely space with reasonable drink specials.

Management treats their customers, and staff, like children. I will not hand over money to someone so rude and unapologetically careless about keeping their regular customers happy (management).

I've seen them chase away other customers before, and this is the last time for me too. Non of my family or friends ever intend to give them the time of day again, not in this economy.

First time at the PUB, got some old mates who pub there haven't seen a while back but hopefully the next timing is right to see them but place Peter (Edenvale)

Great vibe on Fridays to Sunday lunch. During the week- good on site parking; Food is pub grub- you can get virtually anything, and its good!
Booze bill- depends what you drink? On average standard orders are WELL priced!
Servce is good/regular - depends on the demand!
All said - a good casual quality presentation for good quality interaction!
