First time visit and had good service and two delicious meals. Lots to look forward to on the extensive menu. Will be back.

Lovely little, award winning place with an excellent choice of meals. I loved the options.a Veal Cordon Bleu and Duck to mention a few! Not a child friendly place though, but lovely for a nice romantic evening or older family dinner.

Haven't been 4 years and it still a mega pleasure to eat there.love love love

Enjoyed a 90th birthday event at Hillside Tavern today and the staff was friendly and helpful, the food was prepared with care and we were allowed to bring personalised cupcakes with us, Hillside Tavern helped make the event a great success!

Always enjoy the food. No pretense, just good, reliable service and food. So happy that one can have plain cooked meat and veg that is prepared well. Enjoy sitting at a table with a table cloth. Please support them, we want to be able to visit them for years to come.

What a wonderful place.
The atmosphere was magnificent, the staff was great and the food was to die for.

We went here for date night and not only did my boyfriend have the "best steak he's ever tasted" but my dish of cranberry duck confit was sublime.

The service here was excellent and definitely above and beyond what you expect of decent customer service nowadays.

10/10 would recommend. We cannot wait for our next visit.

Disappointing. Steak was ordered medium rare, received it blue rare. Crème brulee wasn't properly baked. Coffee was bad. All in all, just truly disappointing.

I have no words that will do justice to the quality of rhe service or the food. Try it for yourself. You will go back again.and again.

We had a very efficient and friendly waiter. The meal was delicious and a good variety of sides to choose from. Well prepared and presented. A pleasant experience and highly recommendable.

Our favourite place to go on date night! Decor slightly dated, but the food and service always excellent and friendly. A real "sure thing" where you always know what to expect! Reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

If there was 1000 stars, they deserve each and every single one. You can pick anything off the menu, and it would be great. Wine selection limited (only 2 Pinotages) but carefully selected top South African wines. I am so glad you survived Covid

I have been to Hillside Tavern numerous times in my life and the food never dissapoints. The trinchado sauce is also a brilliant 'take away'

The owner is open to critique and addressed the only matter I have raised there, not much more one could ask for.

Oldy but a goodie! Lovely restaurant and classic bar.

We had such a great evening. The food was yummy a d the drinks were cold.

We were a big group and almost everything went down without a hitch. Forgot a salad, but that was not a lot. Fairly standard choice of drinks, excellent selection of meat dishes.

The ambiance was great.the service and friendly staff wonderful. The food was tasty but overpriced for what was offered. It was the type of food I cook at home daily.not fine dining. All in all we enjoyed the evening.had a great table and waitress. Just the food was a let down and the price way too high fir what we were presented with.

The service of Alexis was excellent! BUT the meals were exorbitantly expensive for far too little food. No one received salad and only one guest, any vegetables. I shall most definitely never visit you again.
