Hinterland Restaurant

The worst service experience EVER! The waiter (Thabang) paid no attention to us. He was not bothered. Not once did he check up on us. We
had a lady who tried to cover up but she had her own tables to attend. Dessert was inedible. We walked away wishing we NEVER came here.

Meat was average, roasted vegetables were soft and NOT roasted. They seemed to be boiled and then a flame was run over them.

Champagne was out of stock

Creme Brulee was cold, curdled and the top did not crack.

Good steaks, but I wish the consistency was better. One day the food is great, then a week later its poor. It really makes me hesitant to go back.

Took my hubby there for his birthday. Despite being the only people in the restaurant we didn't get exceptionally quick service. Chicken schnitzel was slightly dry. Meat had a very distinct grill taste. Speciality milkshakes chocolate and milktart were both just ordinary, nothing special

Staff are friendly, food was better than average. Nice decor, comfortable seating. I'll definitely be back.

The food took quite a while to arrive but it was worth the wait. By the time you get your meal you're just about starving but at least the portion sizes are generous.
The prices are slightly higher than a normal restaurant but you do get to have a sort of a fine-dining experience and the vibe is very inviting.
Hinterland prides themselves on their wine collection and it is certainly a formidable one. The staff can suggest wines to go with your meal, which is a nice touch.
Warning: It is definitely not vegetarian friendly with its wide selection of meaty dishes, as well as the fact that one can see whatever animal is hanging in their fridges right from where one is having one's meal. Charming.

This is a lovely restaurant to go for lunch or dinner. Food and service were good, and the atmosphere was peaceful.

This restaurant is attached to the butchery and serves very good meat. There is one vegetarian option on the menu. The steak was excellent, even though one of our steaks was well done instead of medium rare.

I loves how cosy this restaurant is. Only reason for the 4 start was the limited selection of wines and drinks. The steaks were to die for.

I visited Hinterland last night. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The ambience is good. The wine selection is very good and well priced.

The parking (paid) is safe and good with lifts to the restaurant level. Wheelchair friendly.

Great service. Great ambience. We got completely small fritters which we're freshly made and very tasty. We then ordered a starter to share for the table - onion rings stuffed with Mince and cheese and fried in a batter - it was a great dish. We went to have 500gr Tbone special there on Wednesday. The sirloin side on the Tbone was a bit on the tough side. We added a really tasty blue cheese sauce with our dish as well. The taste was good though. We will definately go back and try other items on their menu. The staff was well trained and very competent. Really good Covit rules adherence.

Great food, very nice clean classy setup, take your partner there for a special occasion. We did valentines dinner

Great tender and juicy steaks.all you carnivores its worth the visit. Good wines - a bit pricey.

Wow! You haven’t tasted steak until you have eaten here. Food is simply amazing. Great selection of wine and helpful staff. Owner/manager comes round to say hi to diners which is a nice touch.

Spectacular location! Amazing food! Although not halal, but super halaal friendly! By asking if one would prefer the use of a separate pan! Loved every second of my three hours spent here! It was a colleagues farewell and the five tables of people were seen to at every second of those three hours!

Excellent meat: quality, amount, perfectly cooked. Also the sides - only the salad could be better (instead of mayonnaise provide olive oil and balsamic or the dressing apart). Wine selection is impressive

We visit Hinterland multiple times a year, especially for their Wednesday night special, always have a wonderful time

First time here for our 16th anniversary, absolutely loved the atmosphere, we also got a little treat on the house to congratulate us. Definitely an awesome place to visit

I have been here a few times now and never been let down. My meat has always been perfect and tender and service was always with a smile. If you want good meat and wine you can't go wrong.
