Life Grand Cafe Mall of the South reviews
51Loved the restaurant the service was excellent from arrival Waiters welcome you and usher you to your table. The restaurant is beautiful with great live music. The food was also good, I highly recommend this place especially on a Sunday afternoon
Great Service Always, Pat and Team always provide 5 star service. Friendly and welcoming staff.
Had lunch with my wife and I must say that the atmosphere of the place and the music is on point. They just need to improve on the standard of the food as their Food is blend, there is lack of seasoning and flavour.
The live band is always my favorite reason for visiting.
The food wasn't nice
The black bowl used to serve the dressing and ice-cream was rusted.
If I could give it a 0 star I would, we waited almost 10 minutes to be seated, tables where available waiters where just staring at us, after we were finally seated we waited another 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive we had to beg for our order to be taken which took another hour I ordered a medium rare steak, potatoes and chimichuri sauce my mom ordered beef ribs and chips my steak came well done I returned it if came back rare, the fried sushi was nice chimichuri sauce was not a chimichuri sauce it was awful my Last straw was when the bill came back with items we did not order. I do not recommend this place I'm also never going there.
Great atmosphere, and music. Beautiful decor and finishes. The food wasn't so great. I ordered sushi, salmon roses and nigiri prawn. The portion size was just humongous! Didn't look so appetising, but I still ate it! Lol. My brother ordered pasta bolognese and tiramisu cake. The cake was wet/ muchy, you couldn't taste the different layers. It was a very soft cake. My sister had rump steak, fries and mushroom sauce, she enjoyed it. Life Grand Waterfall was a far much better experience! Please improve on the standard of your food.
Was really excited about eating here! Arrived at 10: 30 to find an almost empty restaurant and super disinterested staff. Sat down and waiting around 12 minutes to be served (we were one of two tables and the outside section hadn’t been set up). Eventually got coffees after 20 minutes - apparently the coffee machine was slow? The coffee was served on side plates as there were no saucers? (the manager seems rather embarrassed when we told him, and we got saucers on round two) ? Took a while to be able to order, the waitress seemed confused about what we ordered. And got one of the meals very wrong (omelette with completely different fillings).
However the waitress was very friendly and personable. The restaurant was beautiful and clean. The food was delicious. The service and quality just didn’t seem “together”. Probably won’t go back even though the food was great.
They couldn't help me with a bottle of water. Waited for it for more than 30 minutes. And still had to walk to the bar table to order it my self and wait for it and make sure that I get it eventually.
I will never stop recommending Life grand Cafe to everyone because the food, drinks, decor is spectacular. The food is absolutely AMAZING, flavourful and well presented. I had creamy pasta (I forgot the name of the dish but I think it's the 3rd item from the pasta menu) with extra prawns. My partner had seafood paella and that was soooo delicious, everything in that dish had a different flavor. Its worth every penny. We then ordered fish and chips for takeaway which we planned on having the next day IT WAS STILL DELICIOUS AND PACKED WITH FLAVOR!
I gave service 3 stars because I think that the establishment could get more staff on busy days. Life Grand is always busy and packed most of the time when I go there and they seem understaffed. I thought our waiter was neglecting us but then I noticed how some of the tables around us were hardly given attention as well.
The place is aesthetically pleasing and the good background music is not overwhelming. It's neat and clean. I loved the decor and bar setup.
Did you even go to Life Grand Cafe if you didn't get a Watermelon daiquiri?
If you're looking for a vibrant place, especially on a Saturday evening, then Life Grand is definitely the place to go. The service was amazing (despite the place being fully packed). Sushi and oysters were incredible and fresh, their steak really isn't anything to write home about, but their fish is beyond delectable. Desert was not as good as I would have liked and the waffle was just tiny.especially for R80. The atmosphere is amazing (especially in the evening if you're looking to listen to great music and enjoy amazing drinks).
The type of place you can always go to if you looking to have a fun night of good music and good drinks on weekends. (Especially Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays).
The place has a mature aura about it, not too ratchet and feels classy too. Do be warned like any Club setting it is not for the insecure. Make sure you come looking, smelling and feeling good.
In terms of prices. The place is fairly affordable drinks are not too expensive and the food tastes good. It's also nearby the rooftop parking by mall of the south for those that always want to keep one eye on their car.
The music is quite good. They play through different genres allowing you to have a good time to which ever music you vibe to rather than playing one genre all night.
Food is amazing, great vibe and good service. I ordered margaritas and the Prawn grill. I returned my first margarita coz it didn’t have enough lime but the ones that followed were perfect. The prawn grill was absolutely delicious, prawns were cooked perfectly.
What a best way to end the week, calming live music (big up to Soul-Tone Band), devine food, amazing space, just couldn't choose any better to spend my Sunday. Oh yes, how can I not mention the most friendiest guy, who is an owner of the place)
The place is cozy. The wait to be seated isn't the best. They could work on that. The food was faultless. If I could make those sweet potatoes fries I would live on them.
Ambiance was proper, decent crowd, efficient service, cold drinks. Would've given it 5 if the food was good? But but the salmon and ribs were too dry for my liking, hence the 4 rating
Powerful restaurant
I love there onion rings
Plus the
Rumb steak with chips was lovely
Woow the red wine first lady mmmmm
The environment was so nice and chilled the music sounded so heavenly the food so delicious, well my pasta bolognese was super delicious but the let down was the chicken, it was just so blend and dry and lacked taste. If it weren't for the chicken I'd give Life Grand Cafe 5stars
Firstly my waiter didn't introduce himself and the fact that he keeps dissapearing im uneasy. The food was owk except i asked for parmesan cheese instead what i got tasted like white gouda
Its in a very beautiful location, has a great vibe to it because of the people who dress up and go there. But from Thurs - Sun its always full especially weekends. I think its because people travel from far to reach this place -@Life Grand Cafe please open up more of your restaurants in other place we cant have the whole of Gauteng traveling to one place.
The waiters were extremely clumsy. We had two guys serving our table alternatively and the both managed to spill the rooibos tea on my bag. They were having loud conversations near our table which I found to be rude and disruptive. The food was cold and it looked old and dry. It was just a terrible experience.
