Makiti Family Restaurant & Waffle House

All the main meals ordered were overcooked. Waiters were slow. Area is nice but that's all that's nice about the restaurant. I would never go back for a meal again.

Beautiful place but the food was a no-no they made some beef stew that was so dark I could swear they used Bisto powder

Then they presented something they called a salad, had lettuce and peppers with dressing slapped ontop‍️

The breakfast was well portioned and tasty. Good, home made food. The location is great and the kids play area also good.

Near cradle of human kind. Simple restaurant, Good for small intimate functions.
Has a ply zone for kids.
Staff very friendly n helpful
Food is average. Had their beef shin portjie it was a bit had felt it needed
Overall beautiful.
Be comfortable as the stairs are a bit high.

Best waffles.yummy. We went there on a Wednesday which apparently means buy one get one free. Highly recommend for families with little children, there is a great play area with jumping castle, sand pits and trampolines. FYI they also do other food.

Always support the restaurant, great food and great play area for kids and a nice drive out of the city

The food here was delicious
It's well organized and they follow Covid protocols by the kitchen.

My only problem was with the housekeepers. I didn't see even 1 wearing a mask on?

Great food. Staff seemed nervous and fumbled our order a few times. Ended up fetching an ashtray myself. Person I presume was the manager was standoffish when we entered. But the food was nice.

Makiti is my favorite restaurant to go to either with family or friends. It is a chilled environment with amazing staff and food which makes it all the better.

Best steak I have ever had at a restaurant! Haven't had rump steak since hubby left for Cape Town and after such an amazing church service this morning I needed a good cup of coffee and just had to settle this craving. First time ever at @makitiweddingvenue_official Waffle House. Amazing Service and food! I like my steak Medium Rare, but more rare than medium. The chef personally visited to confirm my request. Grilled to perfection! Definitely not the last visit! Oh and that garlic sauce! The food is delicious, big ups to the chefs

Was at a wedding and reception, bitterly cold weather with intense wind blowing all Weekend.
Food at reception was good did not stay hot for long with cold weather. Pity the party could not go on a tad longer but due to curfew it finished a lot earlier than expected.
The accommodation was Okay, plenty of hot water for showers. Bed was not that comfortable same for pillows very lumpy. Got very cold early hours of the morning around 3 am.
I little expensive drinks wise bottle of red wine near on R200.
One thing the water did not taste at all good very odd for water out in the country. Roads are very busy and the way buildings are sprining up is unbelievable. I have not been out that side (Sterkfontien Caves / Cradle of Mankind) for many years. How time's have changed over the years.

I took my family there on Sunday, I had fried hake and chips. Got food poisoning. Only now recovering.

Did not eat at restaurant. But the venue is very well maintained.could take beautiful wedding photos.

Family Venture. Amazing menu for babies to old. Play area for young children. Amazing scenery. Chalets for sleep over. Staff very helpful and prices good.

Great food (HUGE portions) very well priced - that's not what you see at your every day restaurant, with great service in a rustic albeit welcoming atmosphere.

Drove all the way to the restaurant wanted to have a nice waffle and some food when we came there apparently the times were not updated they closed even before we got in. This might not seem as big of a deal but when you drive 60km + for a restaurant you expect the owners to at least update their times to accommodate clients.

Lovely place for family outings, facilities for children and a swimming pool, chapel and photo landscape

Absolutely beautiful place but the toilets are very dirty with snot and fecal matter on the walls, the glasses dirty and the cutlery still had food on it.
