Stunning booze cruise. The staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and very efficient. Fantastic food. Drinks reasonably priced. Will definitely be back.

Did a sunset boat cruise, the place looks amazing. I will be going back for a picnic with the whole family.

We had the most amazing experience today at Stonehaven on the Vaal, served by a superb floor manager called Edward, his service was outstanding, one we haven’t experienced in South Africa in a very long time, he went out of his way to make sure we were attended to from the time we arrived to the time we left and for this we will be back. The food he recommended was fit for our taste buds and exceeded our expectations. He is a true asset to Stonehaven on the Vaal and should be valued as an exceptional member of their team. Thank you for making our Easter Sunday such a pleasurable one.

Horrible food, bland and tasteless. Drinks not mixed properly. Over priced, the presentation sucked. Won’t go there again

Bad embarrassing experience, for a 2nd time now, the first time was a stork party, they did not put signs up as requested guest arriving had no clue where to go and got lost. They did not have the cupcakes ready as requested and ordered, it just never arrived at the table - soo embarrassing. The 2nd time is on 23 Dec18,
I took my staff for a xmas lunch, booked before the time. On arrival no one there to take us to our table, we did not know which table was for us. We sat at a table we presume should be for us. Had a very dirty tablecloth. No one came to serve us even after we rang the bell a few times. So we had to start our speeches without my guests having something to drink.
We chose the 2 course meal for R124.00 - what a disappointment! The meat was tough and tasteless. The rice had no salt. Spinach was not on standard and mass cooked. The chicken was tough, was prepared too long before the time, and standing too long, couldn't cut it with a knife dried out looked like biltong, just as tasteless looked like cotton thread if you cut the meat. This was a bitter disappointment and a rip off, embarrassing for me. For that same amount spent we could have eaten very well somewhere else! But Damage is done.
It looks like Stone haven is getting too big, too busy, and can not handle the food & service properly and is now preparing mass food that is tasteless and sub standard, ordinary hostel food. I was later informed by the supervisor that we took the wrong table in the first place? How should we have known if there was no one to greet us or allocate us?

Lovely venue. Very popular for Sunday lunches and river boat cruises. Their food is always good. It used to be a much quieter place but it's become rather busy and very loud outside on the lawns, with lots of kids running around. All goes with the "family" vibe I guess. There is also the inside restaurant option which is much quieter. It is a beautiful place. Just be sure to book in advance.

Very very unique experience.service and food is GREAT.but truly.this entire place needs a good vacuuming.the dust around the facility is atrocious.a homely atmosphere must feel 'lived in' but not dirty.

A great place to hang out next to the Vaal River. Gets quite busy on weekends, expect a wait with food orders.

An absolutely stunning venue for functions, date nights or family outings. It's really beautiful with incredible gardens and green lawn. There's great activities for the young ones. The foods really good and reasonably priced, the brownies are a must have if you have a sweet tooth.
The picnic facility looks great and as soon as the weather permits I'm definitely going to try it.
The many function venues that are for hire are really in pristine condition and we'll maintained.
The boat cruises also look great with many options available. There's definitely something for everyone here.

Beautiful venue for birthdays and weddings. Scenery is really beautiful. Very popular with tourists.

Awesome place to take the kids out for the day. There is a swimming pool, kids can swim for free. There is play areas including jumping castles, boat rides that is faaantastic and a super awesome restaurant. You won't be disappointed. Service was good. Be sure to take some sunblock with. But a really nice trip for the kiddies. They also offer various day packages that are really great and you are most welcome to also bring your pets along.
