On behalf of a dear friend, this hospital needs to keep an eye on negligence and caring for patients. A heart rate monitor was let to keep going on low battery twice, which caused a small panic when there was nothing wrong with the patient - the patient's mother had to ask for the staff to address it. The nurses were also very unsympathetic to the same patient who had just woken up from an operation - and I get it, this is a stressful job and you don't want to hear people crying - but the patient would have deeply appreciated some kindness at this time. I would appreciate it if the staff at this medical centre could try to be more attentive. Again, I understand that this isn't an easy job, and it's a pain and it's stressful, but I ask this nonetheless.

A hospital that should get more stars than the one I'm giving. I have been in and out of this hospital for the past 5 and a half years and today was the worse experience I ever had.
Firstly medication was given to me this morning that I'm allergic to and the oxygen open full nearly blowing out my sinuses.
Secondly no water refill since 2pm. After numerous asking still nothing. Being diabetes and needs to have regular water intake this was sadden as it felt like I had to beg for water. I bought my own water at round about 4 and by the time it was finished the canteen was also closed. I had to voice myself for some water as I was starting feeling shaky and not well.
Thirdly the dishes for supper from 5: 30 was also not removed, I mean 21: 30 and not been removed yet.

At least the Dr's were good Dr Nadine Harran is outstanding and caring dr and I would give her 5 stars, the staff at the xray department was outstanding with the support and understanding during the MRI I had to have, also 5 stars. A big shout out for Kenneth that took me to xrays and trying to encourage me to let go of my fear for the MRI machine as I do not like small place confide places. Food was nothing to get exited about,

My colonoscopy experience at Donny Gordon was not pleasurable from booking in at reception to being admitted to the day ward. Mediclinic management must also please answer the 1 star comments where very poor service was experienced.

The worst experience ever. I will never put my foot in that hospital. They phoned to say a bed as ready. I then rushed to hospital, becuase I am desperate and waiting for 7 days for a bed. When I got to the reception. They informed me that the bed they had for me, was given to to another patient. My time and effort to rush here, just for them to tell me the bed is given away. Why didn't they phone me to tell me this? They told me to come back and I must Waite at home until the phone me. Unprofessional service, the ladies frm the doctors room, didn't even hav the respect to come and say this to me and explain to me. Even when I aksed them to.
They refused. I came for medical help and I had to turn away because they played with me and made me rush for a bed that they gave away.

Wow. I have never been so dissapointed with service.ever! I made an appointment as a first time patient about 2 or 3 months ago with Prof Solomon, who I have only heard great things about. I was given a slot on 28th Oct. When I called to make an appt for my son a month ago I was told the Prof is not seeing new patients at the moment and to call back in the beginning of October. I asked if my appt was still valid and was told yes. Today I called again to see if I could get my son in. I was told by a man that he is not seeing new patients, and he has no idea if or when he will. I asked again if my appt was still valid, and was told no it is not. When I asked when they planned to tell me it was cancelled I was told by Thuto that they would have called me the day before my scheduled appt. This is utterly disgraceful. To be told a day before your appointment (that was made months before) that your appt is cancelled is just unacceptable. This is a chronic disease, and medications are needed and can't just be stopped. I cannot even begin to express my dissapointment.

Most pathetic. Stay away! Took an hour and half to get admitted. NO doctors availanle in case of emergency. 14 hours after suspected stroke, numerous calls later, oy to be told only admittind dr may see him. At 24h00 tonite. Really?

Customer care is very unprofessional and incompetent. I usually call to arrange deliveries for patients and I always get people who are not helpful, rude and just negative. Either they are not skilled to be working in the customer care department or they are not happy with their salaries (why don't they quit?) I am terribly affected because some of the patients don't get deliveries on time due to this.

My experience wasn't as great as the other people. My dr.was brilliant. But the hospital staff a zero. I was supposed to get injected with warfarin the nurse lies about it and sign it off In my file that she injected me. When my dr. Asked about it she said she injected me. I told him no one was by my bed to inject me. When the morning staff come in they phoned her. Then she said she forgot to inject me. The worst part of it she gets away with it. The night shift was no help at all. When I ring the bell for help you can see she was sleeping and not very helpful. She put my drains in my hand and my drip for me to walk alone to the bathroom after surgery. I couldn't get out of that hospital quick enough. My daughter also had a very bad experience there. Will never ever go to that hospital again!

Our experience is something else. We come from far and the communication between Drs and staff are not great. If you complain people start getting being on purpose. Another matter is the extra treatment s and lots of Dr depleting the medical aids. People just come doing things without explaining or asking permission. At Mediclinic s its a attitude when you walk through our doors you are a dummy you must just go with the flow we know it all. If it was not for our Dr being here we would not ever again use a Mediclinic hospital. Thats how strong we feel about Mediclinics moves.

My brother has been in this hospital since the beginning of December, I live in the United Kingdom and I phone regularly to enquire about his health. I seem to be put through to at least 4 different departments before I speak to someone who can help me.
It is very frustrating to be so far away and have to wait at least 10 mins before I fi ally speak to someone who can help me

Started off fine until had to wait an hour and half in paediatric ward procedure room (that's what the staff call it) with my son and asking the nurses when he will be taken in for his procedure to be told they dont have a clue, in the meantime the dr is waiting for us in theater and couldn't locate us, lucky for me I phoned the drs room, than got the ball rolling, to top off there no available cot beds no adequate seating chairs and no toilet facilities for waiting in procedure room.

Had an operation on the 05/08/2023, the experience was great. The procedure went well and the doctor's were very welcoming and nice. The problem started when I started bleeding and was forced to be discharged like that by the sister on duty. She arranged transport for me and did not even let the doctor know that I am bleeding. When informed about the bleeding, she just told us there is nothing that can be done, we needed to apply pressure and go.

Dr's and majority of staff are great. You will always find The odd nursing staff members that don't want to be there, hate their job, are having a bad day. The hospital is clean and fresh. I have been to this hospital a few times and always the same. My issues are simple, food is terrible, tasteless and so very dry. As a patient confined to bed for a few days and on hard-core medication, you would think I would get an option of food that wld soften up my bowels. I found it difficult to swallow without water with every mouthful. On my last day just before I was ready to leave did the hostess inform me I cld have asked for different choices! A bit late! I was In full blown constipation by then, just to add to my other issues.
Also, please maintain your equipment. From BP machines to the tv remotes. How is it right when the staff take a remote from one patients bed to connect to yr TV cos yrs was not working. Asked for another one, she went to another patients bed and swopped again! Eish! Also, nothing more irritating when the staff talk about you to each other in their language while u are right there. That's just bad manners.

I had an issue and reported it with some of the stuff and it was sorted out quickly. Well done. I love it when an issue is addressed so fast.

I had the best experience at Wits Donald Gordon, from admission to meeting the nurses, doctors and staff.all I can say is WOW! I felt like my condition and treatment was as important to them as it is to me. Tests were done at lightning speed, feedback was given to me at a level I could understand. I was never rushed with a consult, and there was always a friendly smile waiting around the corner. Food was great, and rooms, toilets and showers were clean and sanitized. Thank you for putting my mind at ease.
