Zagora Grill Room and Wine Cellar reviews
30 We didn't like the way our waiter was doing things.we order drinks and he told us the blender is not work, such a turnoff,
We didn't even order anything.it's like they didnt want to work
We had a booking for the Zagora Christmas Lunch. I found out this morning that a member of our party was in contact with an elderly family member on Sunday which tested postive for Covid and whom was admitted in hospital on Thuesday. I have made a call to Zagora, sent a message via FB and 3x e-mails enquiring what our options are if we do not attend for the sake of the restaurant and its patrons as we do not know at this stage whether the gentlemen may be a risk. Out of moral obligation we decided to not attend and lose almost R2000 as we received no response or call back as promised during the telephone call. Zagora clearly does not care about the health of their patrons and would rather let people attend who might test Covid positive in a day or two than to provide alternative options for people acting in the restaurant's best interest.
Having spend over R60 000 in the last 7 years, at Zagora (wedding anniversaries and daughter's wedding), our last visit, on our wedding anniversary, was extremely disappointing.alcohol prices are very reasonable and the service and staff are good, but their food prices have SKY ROCKETED! We opted for their Pork Belly, as our "normal choice" of Lamb Shank or Phyllo Pastry Oxtail has become ridiculous pricy. The Pork Belly was flavourless, extremely chewy and the fat layer was burned on top, whilst not crispy - most definitely no trace of the "well known" Moroccan flavours.
Said they had vegetarian options when we called to make reservations but when we got there they offered nothing but starters & sandwiches. For such a fancy place I'd at least expect the chef to whip something up in order to accommodate us. The waiter handled it flippantly as well. Left a bad taste in my mouth.
I won’t lie this is not my kind of restaurant, the look and feel, and the furniture is heavy. It has a lot of character…. And has carpet inside, it has an Indian feel.
But it’s always good to try something different for a change. The restaurant is huge, has 2 sides and an outdoor pool are. Service was okay, and the food was also okay. I really enjoyed the cocktails they are very good and affordable…. I would come back for the cocktails.
I gave this restaurant 5 stars for their food. It was most delicious. The service was unfortunately on the down side, even though we were there when the restaurant was not busy at all. I assume the waiter was training and she somewhat struggled to get the drinks to our birthday table on time. I would suggest a trained waiter to assist.
Beautiful place and decor. Food not as nice as before. Good service. Wine not cold, as it wasn't kept in a fridge, only a cold room.
Was in search for Moroccan Cuisine and this came up. Food was ok. A bit on the pricey side. Won’t go there again.
This was once my favorite place. The service really went backwards during and after COVID. After 2.5 hours, we had only 2 rounds of drinks and starters. Even addressing this with the more senior staff did not improve the situation. Breaks my heart
Disappointed by the service Rendered on the 14th of March from the waiting staff, even to settle our bill was a mission, we generally love the restaurant in its entirety, on this day it failed to deliver, hope our next experience here will be more pleasant
The first time we dined here in December 2020 we were blown away by how fantastic the food was and the stellar service. We were, however, left a bit disappointed on our last visit in March 2021. We requested an outdoor table, and received no service after being served mains. We had to seek the waiter to order dessert and to get our bill. We were left sitting in the dark, as it was late by the time we left. We had to ask for lights. Hopefully we don't have a repeat of this kind of service the next time we visit, as we do enjoy the food, but the service needs to live up to what we have come to expect of the place.
My girlfriend and I went for the Valentine's Day fine dining experience in the wine cellar and it was really great! The setting was nice and private, the staff are friendly and most of the food way fantastic, there were just one or two dishes that lacked flavour and portion. But otherwise everything else was great, can definitely recommend Zagora Grill room.
A very nice place to treat yourself for a special occasion. It is a bit pricey, but the portions were good and sooo delicious.
Beautiful wine cellar. Very great for an intimate dinner and the food was good.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The wine cellar does not seem to be wheelchair friendly but I could be mistaken
Amazing food and venue! Loved the vibe and the fact that the acknowledged it was our anniversary. I think the only was, seeing it as a more fine dining experience I noticed the waitress never offered to fill up the wine glasses for us, other than that there's so much to love about this place
The food is divine, the service is good, the decide is absolutely gorgeous however it's a nightmare to book a table, it has been thier only downside as the website has numbers that goes to the hotel and I called today 7 times and still didn't get through to the restaurant, I don't think they figured out the proper way to manage this place
Excellent restaurant. The lamb shank and the kingklip dish were fantastic. Very good flavors. The service was excellent. I feel a bit of moroccan type music would have improved the atmosphere. Other patrons were very loud, and our neighbor was having a conversation on speaker. No, really? We ended with an extremely tasty baked custard. Good wine selection. It is very much worth a visit.
I really enjoyed my graduation lunch at Zagors, great food, best service and gorgeous atmosphere. I recommend the Sunday buffet for any occasion!
We were a party of 10. The food was excellent, served beautifully and without having to wait long between the 3 courses. The service was also tops.
