Letaba Rest Camp reviews
42For Denis, s Birthday drive, we simply enjoyed viewing smaller animals, little Vetvet monkeys, birds, looked at gorgeous Rondawels & saw shops & friendly people!
We camped here for 4 nights. Clean and tidy. Would have enjoyed some grass. Ablutions were clean and sanitiser present. Very nice viewing deck at the restaurant area.
Of all the larger camps this one is the cleanest and best maintained. The restaurant at the Letaba River lookout is a nice place to spend time as the sun sets
Great Location against the river. Camping area was generally clean. Ablutions need serious maintenance and general management
Newly refurbished this camp offers comfortable accommodation. Tge trees in front of the cottages on the river are very overgrown and block tge river views. They could do with a pruning.
Stayed in the chalets overlooking the river, not the tiny huts or camp area.
Simple, down-to-earth experience. Great for kids and time with friends. Recommend!
Ablusion blocks cleans and fresh. Sanitizer in bathrooms. Kitchen with microwaves, sinks and an Urn right next to ablusion block.
Would be nice if tent houses also had cutlery and crockery.
Power tripped constantly. Very uncomfortable in stifling hot rondawel when this happened. Shower not very clean.
As first time campers in Kruger Park, of our 3 camps visited, Letaba is by far the best camp. The sites are a little more clearly marked and leaves and sticks raked away. Ablutions are old but clean. The roads in the park are not all covered in sand. The staff at reception and the shop are helpful and pleasant. Electricity is not available at all the sites so you need a long cable. Braais and dustbins are cleaned daily.
Camping is good when you have enough shade & clean & neat ablusions. Would have liked some grass in camping areas.
Loved the tents we stayed in for 2 nights. The facilities are adequate and clean. The walks inside the camp are really great.
Very bad, total lack of maintenance, accommodation not worth price, grass not cut, in past it was top camp, not any more. Wil not recommend to anyone in future
The camp looks unkempt with litter around and clumps of dried leaves left untended. Also, no internet, unless one was in the restaurant or near the admin block! Getting petrol was impossible unless one had cash. The burnt out shop should be demolished- it is an eyesore. The service in the restaurant was good and the chalet service was superb. We really enjoyed our stay due to the very friendly and helpful staff.
Very peaceful and quiet, highly reccomend it if you looking for a good all round deal in the park
Great views, loved the food, the friendly staff, perfect place to wind down after a long day looking at the big five around Kruger, lovers of camping this would be a perfect get away
Technical infrastructure (electricity, geyser, etc.) in good order. Appearance and neatness is acceptable. Gras received an overdue mowing, while we were there, but thorns are starting to take over the camp site. Good experience with competent and friendly reception staff (Fridda?), raises this rating from 3 to 4 stars.
Letaba Rest Camp is for us the best camp in the Kruger Park. Sightings of Animals, Birds, Reptiles and Insects is abundant. The camp is well run and amenities work. Game drive are fun and informative, a must visit.
Having returned from our highly anticipated 8 day stay in the park, camping at Letaba Rest Camp, I can not contain my disappointment at the general upkeep and maintenance of this once beautiful camp. The general public areas and gardens are overgrown and poorly maintained, the buildings and roof of the restaurant is in need of refurbishment and the ablutions in the camping area is not only poorly serviced by has not seen a coat of paint on years. Sad to see our #1 Tourist destination in SA go down in this way.
Letaba's campsite's ablution blocks need an urgent update. The bathrooms only get cleaned once a day, leaving it messy and muddy at the end of the day. The laundry facilities are old, but efficient. The Indlovo restaurant serves lovely food! And the view is spectaclar.
