Pronto Italian Restaurant

I have been to Pronto on many occasions, and it is one of my favorites, and still is.
We booked for our year end Work lunch there, months ago, for 15pax, for 13h00.
We arrived and our waiter Moses was great, but our mains only arrived just before 16h00. (Not that they were placed at 15h45. I'd estimate they were placed by 14h00)
I understand there were other large tables where orders were possibly in before ours, but I feel that restaurant bookings should be accepted based on kitchen capacity.
I do not think a 2 hr wait for mains is acceptable.

So, I will be back for sure, as the food was great, as it always is, when it finally arrived, but definitely will not be with a big table.

Anyone who comes to this restaurant must try fiery prawn pasta! It's a bit expensive but very worth it with 10 prawns in the pasta! It's probably the best oil pasta I've ever had! The pizza was average so I took a star off. But very good pasta and great atmosphere with amazing service!

Wondering service from start to finish.
It's a great restaurant, not my best for the selection of pasta.

2 out of three things I wanted were unavailable. No clams, no prosciutto.
I then wanted putanesca they didn't make it.

Service was absolutely perfect. I had a fantastic, very patient kind waiter.

Sauces are very tomato heavy, not light. We had the fettuccine Arrabiata and the spagetti meatballs.
But overall, it's good. There's just something I'm not sure of.

Very cool place to go an get some dinner with your family. Their spagetti/pasta meals are good I enjoyed the chorizo pasta. The place has potential to be great, they should play loud vibey music. Woule mostly definitly bring more people in.

This is such a lovely Italian restaurant. The food was good, I’ll admit you can probably find better pizza in joburg but it’s still very good. The starters we very tasty and I like that they bring you complimentary bruschettas. The vegan salad was delicious and would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a lighter dinner option. The portion sizes are generous as well and you definitely won’t leave here hungry. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful but a little bit unprofessional. The restaurant is decorated nicely and has quite a cosy feel, definitely a nice spot for date night. It is a bit on the pricier side but not ridiculously expensive. I get the impression it gets quite busy so if you’re planning to go on the weekend I would book, during the week you should be fine as a walk in. It is wheelchair accessible. There is parking available in the centre but you might end up having to walk quite a way to get to the place. There is also no in house toilet and you have to use the centre’s restroom which is very nice just far away from the restaurant and you have to go up the stairs. Overall I would definitely come here again, it’s a very nice place.

Meals feel like they were prepared by a proper Italian Nonna. The restaurant is all so comfortable, warm and the food so hearty and delicious.

A bit of a struggle to get service. Waitress was unattainable at times.

Worked at this place long back between 2008 and 2010. The place looks super gorgeous and clean. When we talk of consistency, I had one of my favorites Beef and Spicy tomato with linguine and it still tastes the same after 12years. Well done Natasha. I'm super impressed.

Had some dinner with family. The place us well decorated and organized. The center is under construction but don't let that dissuade you from a visit. All the meals my table ordered were great with no complaints at all.

I really enjoyed there spaghetti and meatballs with mozzarella. Would love to go visit again and try a different dish. Italian food is always good food.

Unfortunately my previous good report on Pronto has to be amended because the service seems to have gone a little south.
Our last two meals at Pronto did not start off well.
After being seated at our table, we waited for over 10 minutes for service. I had to go and inform one of the "managers" that nobody had even bothered to come serve us with a drink.
Only after I had spoken to the manager did we suddenly receive attention.
The waiter who was assigned to our table tried his best to provide good service and he apologised for the bad start.
We also appreciated the "free salad" that was offered to us in lieu of the poor service. So cudo's to the management, however two incidents like this in a row, is not acceptable.

Racist people they thought i coudn't afford and couldn't give me a good table. The racism is bad and its the second time! Sies!

Tried a solo date thing with them today and you know what? Their meat in my mouth tasted like heaven. Cannot even start on the service. Very impressed

Food was delicious. But the staff is what made me give 5 stars. They are friendly, helpfull and just made us feel at home. Would definitely visit again

Pronto consistently one of Joburg’s best. As always such a great experience. Amazing staff and great Italian pasta. Njum

Extremely good! I have the mushroom steak and creme brulee. It's always busy and my companions were very happy with the food and service.

This is second time I've eaten here and previous time was also fantastic.

We had brunch, egg Benedict, with Salmon, it was delicious!
The restaurant has a very nice vibe to it, perfect for meetings, with clients, or even socially with friends or family. Sofisicated enough to suit any occasion.
Service was great, ample and convenient access from the large parking lot at the vack of the centre.

Delicious pasta dishes. Nice variety. Friendly and efficient service. Centrally located. Plenty of parking. Nice ambient atmosphere.

Great food (extensive menu) and service plus alot of outside sitting. You should definitely check it out
