The Cradle Restaurant at Cradle Boutique Hotel

Waited 30 min for lunch menu.
Waited another 30 min to order.

Cancelled lunch items ordered on menu after another 20min wait.
Decided on cup of coffee and left.

Staff very apologetic but shortage of staff and attention to patrons needs serious attention!

Not recommended due to extremely poor service and attention to patrons.

Great view. Overpriced, poor service, food is well presented but average tasting. It's the typical scenario of "we have the view so why give good service"

I went ny to Cradle Restaurant today for dinner for my birthday and the food was absolutely terrible. To make matters worse we waited for over an hour for our food. The food was bland and tasteless. I had been to this restaurant several times before and the food was amazing. I am not sure what went wrong today.

Terrible and slow service! What a shame as the place has such a beautiful view! Would not go back.

If I didn't have to give one star, I wouldn't. What a stunning venue with absolutely atrocious service levels, and with the rip-off prices to accompany the service. Walked out after an hour, never again, lots of other places in the area.

The service we got on Christmas day was bad, we didn't get the dishes we paid for (Christmas lunch) ordered drinks and water we didn't get "surely the waiter forgot us" then boom! Thet over charge us. We argued with the waiter and other waiters got involved luckily we had an email to back us and what's surprising is that the supervisor just passed us while 3 waiters argued with us regarding the bill. Really the service is no longer the same

At first on the 10th of December 2020 I thought maybe it was just that day whereby things ain't going well in the restaurant, but clearly that's not the case the service sucks!

Amazing location, lovely staff, but quite simply one of the worst meals we've had in the past 3 years.

After having to chase our drinks (for some reason our waitress had forgotten) we were served a warm bottle of white wine. After the bottle was opened, we discovered it wasn't even the bottle we'd ordered.

Nearly 40 minutes after we arrived (we were some of the first people in the restaurant) the food finally arrived.
3 plates of chips were so undercooked they were raw in the middle.
The children's hot dogs were raw in the middle. When they kindly accommodated my wife's request for chicken with her caesar salad, what arrived it was mainly greasy chicken skin.
10 minutes after our desert orders were taken, the waitress arrived at out table to explain that most of the desert menu wasn't available. No matter, we ordered from the 2 dishes that were available. 10 minutes later another member of staff arrived to explain that one of those wasn't available!

What food there was that was cooked properly was average at best, but for a short menu like this, all the dishes should be on point which they just weren't.

To say this was a massive disappointment would be a understatement.

On a positive note they did what they could with the bill, but by then our lunch was ruined.

Great location with stunning views. The rooms are lovely and also boast great views. Staff are super friendly and energetic. Game rides are excellent despite there being none of the Big 5 we still learnt a lot and enjoyed our long drive. Unfortunately this is where the good news ends. Management needs to take its job more seriously, they are letting the side down. We were there over a long weekend and experienced the following 1) not even golf carts to take residents to and from their rooms (especially at night) 2) unable to get towels or regular service by the pool 3) rooms lacking details on how to reach reception/room service/anything 4) disappointing meals with many shortages (no bagels, no lemons, no pork, no tomato sauce - all of these were on the menu ofcourse) and white wine served at room temperature due to an issue with refrigeration apparently.

Good day. Cradle hotel is beautiful, the staff is great polite& courteous.
1. Room11: very bare - no info book with where to find anything eg what is on offer, how and where you book for game rides - you have to phone reception for clarity.
2. No courtesy soap, shampoo etc - just incase I forgot mine
3. Room service: fish and chips minus coleslaw & vinegar, orange juice uncovered, sandwiches soggy - could eat them- no table to eat from.
4. Breakfast: sausage and dry bacon dry. Lunch ok.

NB: COVID REGULATIONS NOT ADHERED TO: NO 1.6 METRES IN BETWEEN. NOT TESTED WHEN YOU COME IN.

The game drive was wonderful Kellen was a great host.
Banana was super helpful and courteous.

Very interesting food arrangement if you are going with fancy, plain and simple sandwiches are a disappointment. If you are a big eater the portions are generous. Don't arrive on the closing between breakfast and lunch. The quality will be the left overs from breakie.

Otherwise lovely atmosphere and enjoyable hosting.
I won't be in a hurry to be back as the food wasn't to my expectation but, the drinks are ooh lala. I appreciate our waiter making up for the complimentary champagne, he was genuine and sincere.

Beautiful aesthetic but service is extremely slow.
Food consistency takes forever to make. 2 hours and waiting since we've placed our order.

The place is great but if you are person that loves music, you can’t play any (even in low volume) Also you can’t even have a conversation in the balcony or answer a call where you are slightly loud because other guests want tranquility.

Don’t order omelette, it’s tasteless!

At the luxury accommodation, you might get injured by the wood bed base protruding when you get out of bed or walking past.

Game drive is amazing! Food is great (excluding breakfast), staff is friends and professional.

I was disappointed with restaurant, i felt misled with their menu.the dinner menu was so limited and we couldnt order from the normal menu which was repeately sent to me during reservation process. The place is beautiful and had beautiful settings but the food was average.

Arrived at the restaurant and waited 15 min for someone to take a drinks order or to even acknowledge that we were there, then we were told that the wine we ordered was out of stock, this all while 2 managers were standing at the bar looking pretty.

We ordered nachos which were good but the platter was disappointing.

This place used to be really good, how sad.

Perfect views. Unfortunately their dinner menu is a set dinner menu with really limited choice.

The food was delicious and the views were amazing. The restaurant is beautiful and a short drive from Jhb.
The service was very slow.

The only problem i have is the guy at the restaurant who served our table (i forgot the name), his service is cold, and unwelcoming like u are not paying with your money but overall the place is very nice.

Such a beautiful restaurant with delicious food. The staff is very friendly and professional. Only thing that I didn't like is the background music and that I had to leave.

Great experience. Food presentation was good but lacked in taste and seasoning. Would have preferred better quality drinking glasses. A bit of background music would have been amazing. Staff however were very friendly and the views were stunning. Would visit again soon
