The Cradle Restaurant at Cradle Boutique Hotel reviews
49 Beautiful setting with an “Out of Africa” feel, and a peek into the dawn of mankind. The restaurant has gorgeous views of the natural surroundings… There were the cutest monkeys playing below us as we soaked in the atmosphere.
Attentive and excellent service. Delicious food of the highest quality. We popped in for a refreshment and ended up ordering a few starters as tapas. What a delight!
I’ll definitely be back with guests from overseas.
Loved everything about this place, it was quiet and perfect for our lunch date. The food was also great
Absolute best escape to the nature, great experience ND the welcoming warmth of the staff and environment
This place is beautiful, the service is amazing, the staff is perfect, especially Abi. Absolutely worth the drive
The view is beautiful and the restaurant is airy and stunning.
Word of warning, you need to book via the Dineplan app. I tried booking several times via email and phone but neither method was successful.
Having said that. We took the long drive out their with our fingers crossed. The staff were amazing and friendly. I could see that it was an inconvenience but they didn't bat an eyelid immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable.
The menu is small but caters even for vegan patrons. And each of us were able to quickly find something that we wanted from the menu.
Can highly recommend
Out of Gauteng within Gauteng, so scerene, food was impeccable and the service is excellent, definitely would recommend and will be returning there again
We had an excellent experience last night. My family have been many times over the past decade, but never for the food. In fact the variability of the food (between bad and OK) in the past meant that despite the amazing location, and very close proximity to our home, we were visiting less and less frequently more recently, maybe having not been for the past 2 years before last night. Ultimately it is a restaurant, it has to have good food, whatever the views and ambiance. However they have really invested in the place recently, now being a fully-fledged hotel rather than just a restaurant and this captive customer base means they cannot afford to have poor food if they want to sell rooms. Their recent investment has clearly included the restaurant as last night's meal was really excellent. Annoyed by the waiter failing to bring my drinks from the bar because he was too busy attending to personal things on his mobile, but that minor criticism was really nothing in comparison to the generally positive 5* experience. We live only a few KM away and will be back, and many more times if the standards stay this high. Note: maybe a secondary gripe would be my preference for a wider wine list. It is fairly long, but is really only from a few wineries so you'll find a Sav Blanc, Chenin, pinot, Cape Blend, Shiraz etc, all from one maker.
Fantastic spot out of the city for meal, great views of the reserve and excellent service from the staff. Very welcoming and warm gestures from everyone. Take a walk after your meal through the lovely pathways.
An absolute MUST.
Impeccable service, welcoming.from EVERYONE
Food is a cullinary journey.
I have not had a meal as good as we had this evening at this great venue. Our food was “ out of this world”. Service was very personal yet of a very professional level. I shall return to try the food made by this souschef who goes by the name of Salt. Our waitron Dianna was of a kindness we seldom experience. Lovely lady!
Just off and enjoy the sight and sounds of Africa, just around the corner of Lanceria. The food is exceptional. Call them and tell them Mark sent you! Do it now, you’ll love it!
Celebrated our anniversary at this fine restaurant and I still have not gotten over our meals, incredible views and wonderful staff! Tucked away in mountainous Muldersdrift, we thoroughly enjoyed our time!
Amazing loved the pork belly, amazing dinning and the place is great. The breakfast was also good.
The view, the heritage and the food. Three great reasons to visit. Spend a lazy afternoon in the Cradle of Humankind surrounded by stunning views across the valley. Great staff and an interesting musuem about the history of the farm. Fascinating to visit. And a beautiful day out.
Interesting location in the Cradle of Humankind. Visited the adjacent newly opened Malapa Museum - fascinating! The staff are friendly and helpful. Excellent service and wonderful food. Definitely worth repeat visits!
Fantastic service from Shawn and the other staff, very friendly and helpful. Food is superb. Can't wait to come again
The ambience was great and we enjoyed the delicious food. The restaurant is beautifully designed to allow guests to enjoy the view of nature around. If you need a resturant that can offer you peace and tranquillity Cradle Restaurant is the place to be.
Beautiful, airy, serene.waiters are great, hosts was so friendly.chef even share one of the vegetarian recipes with a friend we were with, took his time, came out to explain how to prepare it! Nice open space for kids to run around aswell
Best restaurant we've been to since lockdown started.
Service was very fast and friendly, food was great.
The hake and pea mash was delicious.
Such an awesome setting too, beautiful views from the deck.
Really enjoyed their food. Good old Boerie rol. Beautiful place. Will be back in summer to see all the green.
Gautengs best kept secret. Tranquility, serenity and privacy all wrapped in one. Amazing experience of being woken up by baboons in the morning.
Food was awesome, their lamb cutlets done to perfection, its difficult to please someone who works for a 5star hotel in Sandton, but I was blown away.
The bed was the cherry on top, very comfortable and very spacious. Will definitely be going back.
