49The perfect spot to stop when doing Kromdraai and always such a pleasure to rediscover this place - tucked away in the cradle it’s never gets old!
Amazing location, lovely staff, but quite simply one of the worst meals we've had in the past 3 years.
After having to chase our drinks (for some reason our waitress had forgotten) we were served a warm bottle of white wine. After the bottle was opened, we discovered it wasn't even the bottle we'd ordered.
Nearly 40 minutes after we arrived (we were some of the first people in the restaurant) the food finally arrived.
3 plates of chips were so undercooked they were raw in the middle.
The children's hot dogs were raw in the middle. When they kindly accommodated my wife's request for chicken with her caesar salad, what arrived it was mainly greasy chicken skin.
10 minutes after our desert orders were taken, the waitress arrived at out table to explain that most of the desert menu wasn't available. No matter, we ordered from the 2 dishes that were available. 10 minutes later another member of staff arrived to explain that one of those wasn't available!
What food there was that was cooked properly was average at best, but for a short menu like this, all the dishes should be on point which they just weren't.
To say this was a massive disappointment would be a understatement.
On a positive note they did what they could with the bill, but by then our lunch was ruined.
The ambience was great and we enjoyed the delicious food. The restaurant is beautifully designed to allow guests to enjoy the view of nature around. If you need a resturant that can offer you peace and tranquillity Cradle Restaurant is the place to be.
Beautiful, airy, serene.waiters are great, hosts was so friendly.chef even share one of the vegetarian recipes with a friend we were with, took his time, came out to explain how to prepare it! Nice open space for kids to run around aswell

Food was awesome, their lamb cutlets done to perfection, its difficult to please someone who works for a 5star hotel in Sandton, but I was blown away.
The bed was the cherry on top, very comfortable and very spacious. Will definitely be going back.
Great; We had lunch here two weeks ago, and overall it was a great afternoon. It's a little disappointing that the restaurant doesn't have candles for the flies. The burger I had was sensational, very close to or if not the best burger I've had. Her lamb was very flavorful, however the flavor didn't seep through into the lamb, it was simply on the top. My first drink I ordered was a pre-made gin and tonic mix which wasn't very good. The second drink I ordered was from the gin bar trolley, and it was fantastic. We'll definitely be back sometime soon; and I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.
