The Cradle Restaurant at Cradle Boutique Hotel

The place is great but if you are person that loves music, you can’t play any (even in low volume) Also you can’t even have a conversation in the balcony or answer a call where you are slightly loud because other guests want tranquility.

Don’t order omelette, it’s tasteless!

At the luxury accommodation, you might get injured by the wood bed base protruding when you get out of bed or walking past.

Game drive is amazing! Food is great (excluding breakfast), staff is friends and professional.

The food was delicious and the views were amazing. The restaurant is beautiful and a short drive from Jhb.

Beautiful setting with an “Out of Africa” feel, and a peek into the dawn of mankind. The restaurant has gorgeous views of the natural surroundings… There were the cutest monkeys playing below us as we soaked in the atmosphere.
Attentive and excellent service. Delicious food of the highest quality. We popped in for a refreshment and ended up ordering a few starters as tapas. What a delight!
I’ll definitely be back with guests from overseas.

The only problem i have is the guy at the restaurant who served our table (i forgot the name), his service is cold, and unwelcoming like u are not paying with your money but overall the place is very nice.

Cancelled lunch items ordered on menu after another 20min wait.
Decided on cup of coffee and left.

Staff very apologetic but shortage of staff and attention to patrons needs serious attention!

Such a beautiful restaurant with delicious food. The staff is very friendly and professional. Only thing that I didn't like is the background music and that I had to leave.

I was disappointed with restaurant, i felt misled with their menu.the dinner menu was so limited and we couldnt order from the normal menu which was repeately sent to me during reservation process. The place is beautiful and had beautiful settings but the food was average.

Great experience. Food presentation was good but lacked in taste and seasoning. Would have preferred better quality drinking glasses. A bit of background music would have been amazing. Staff however were very friendly and the views were stunning. Would visit again soon

The scene set is picturesque not only by ambience of the chic table setup but also the gorgeous views of Africa in its natural glory. The menu caters for a number of preferences. The food was nothing so special but was palatable. I would recommend the fish cakes, they were fresh. Definitely worth a visit for a bundu bash right in Johannesburg.

Good service and good food! I ordered oxtail and hubby had the Bush Grill. Perfectly seasoned and made to amper perfection (would've been totally perfect but one off the oxtail pieces on my plate was not tender). Had cake and coffee too, which was good.

Con, the restaurant is a walk from the parking lot, down some stairs or a curvy steep road if you have a pram. Pro, they have golf carts to transport if you request, which used to go back up to the car

Arrived at the restaurant and waited 15 min for someone to take a drinks order or to even acknowledge that we were there, then we were told that the wine we ordered was out of stock, this all while 2 managers were standing at the bar looking pretty.

We ordered nachos which were good but the platter was disappointing.

This place used to be really good, how sad.

The view is beautiful and the restaurant is airy and stunning.

Word of warning, you need to book via the Dineplan app. I tried booking several times via email and phone but neither method was successful.

Having said that. We took the long drive out their with our fingers crossed. The staff were amazing and friendly. I could see that it was an inconvenience but they didn't bat an eyelid immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable.

The menu is small but caters even for vegan patrons. And each of us were able to quickly find something that we wanted from the menu.

I was left wanting more from my game drive on Sunday after spending more than R400p/p… wanting a stop off at a beautiful watering hole, having a “complimentary drink” would have been amazing. The game drivers were extremely knowledgeable. Food is outstanding and ambiance stunning.

Perfect views. Unfortunately their dinner menu is a set dinner menu with really limited choice.

Out of Gauteng within Gauteng, so scerene, food was impeccable and the service is excellent, definitely would recommend and will be returning there again

We had an excellent experience last night. My family have been many times over the past decade, but never for the food. In fact the variability of the food (between bad and OK) in the past meant that despite the amazing location, and very close proximity to our home, we were visiting less and less frequently more recently, maybe having not been for the past 2 years before last night. Ultimately it is a restaurant, it has to have good food, whatever the views and ambiance. However they have really invested in the place recently, now being a fully-fledged hotel rather than just a restaurant and this captive customer base means they cannot afford to have poor food if they want to sell rooms. Their recent investment has clearly included the restaurant as last night's meal was really excellent. Annoyed by the waiter failing to bring my drinks from the bar because he was too busy attending to personal things on his mobile, but that minor criticism was really nothing in comparison to the generally positive 5* experience. We live only a few KM away and will be back, and many more times if the standards stay this high. Note: maybe a secondary gripe would be my preference for a wider wine list. It is fairly long, but is really only from a few wineries so you'll find a Sav Blanc, Chenin, pinot, Cape Blend, Shiraz etc, all from one maker.
