Everything always goes right here. We luckily live close to the TdO but I would say even a trip from elsewhere is fully justified to enjoy this wonderful venue. Shown are the delicious Millefoglia and Cassata

Most overpriced Italian restaurant in JHB. If the food matched the pricing I wouldn't mind, but it's no better than any other Italian in the area. Excellent service though!

My wife and I eat at this restaurant occasionally and have always enjoyed their exceptional cuisine.

Nice upmarket deli turned eatery.
Good atmosphere.
Late night service a bit slow and lacking on basics like serviettes and a clean table cloth.
The kitchen closes at 9pm, get your order in on time.
The main meals have tiny portions, and you might leave hungry.
The desserts more than make up for it with MASSIVE (almost excessive) portions.
Expensive place! 5 people ordering only coffee and dessert - expect a bill of over R1000.
Good quality food.
The ONE toilet is not great, but at least it is clean.
We will save up and return for a full dinner.

Five stars all round. A super authentic Italian menu with seasonal specials, every dish was delicious and they have a FULL vegan menu. Service was fantastic, it's feels like you've taken a trip to another place instead of being 2 minutes from the M1. They've also got beautiful decor items on display

Sadly this has to have the rudest owner in South Africa who talks to her staff like trash. Never again!

We went for pasta and a meat course. Pasta was from daily specials and was very tasty with a big portion for an italian. The Secondi courses were terrible, meat was bland and it came with a plate of potatoes and veg as though it was a Roast Dinner - I'm not sure they understand the Antipasti and Secondi process! It is a beautiful setting and a fabulous place to sit down. Service was good but I found the staff not to be too friendly.

Hands down best pasta I have ever had. I take every opportunity to tell people about this place because it is that good. Well done to the chefs

Italian cuisine at its best in jburg

There are always two surprises at Tortellino, first you shocked at the prices and then you so blown away by the taste, you forget your previous alarm.

Lovely, the decoration with the Christmas poinsettia was absolutely beautiful. The food was tasty and my italien dad loved the gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce. The panettone selection was extraordinary.

Nice atmosphere and good food, however I was expecting more especially at the prices. The homemade ice cream is a must try!

Was good but the seafood pasta I had usually has actual mussel shells and a langostine on top. This time it was not there and the waiter said they ran low. Just iok away from the otherwise yummy dish. At least the terimisu stood the toast of time

The most divine pasta and desserts - slightly put off by the fact that “waiters are instructed not to serve tap water to paying customers”, some people just prefer tap water. Other than that, not too bad.

After being a loyal customer (even ordering take aways to go during covid), I will definitely NOT be visiting this establishment again. Today my husband and I both ordered a glass of Raka Merlot and a pasta dish each (definitely paying customers) but when we asked for a glass of water the waiters simply refused. Apparently the owner does not trust municipal water. So what do they wash their hands with before preparing our food? Or the food itself? Absolutely disgraceful and against the law! I make my own choices and no restaurant will force me to order a bottle of water at a price more expensive than a coffee (look at their menu for this lovely titbit)
The 2 stars is because the food isn’t bad - but I won’t be returning based on the owner and her utter foolishness and the way she barks at her staff!

Very disappointed in this restaurant. If you aren't part of the "in crowd" with the very rude owner, then don't bother going there. Hardly any of the pasta is actually homemade (as they advertise it to be) and the lady owner has such a bad attitude. I watched her throw insults to a client when he just asked to speak to her. We won't be back. Very overpriced.
